I backed our brand new van into our other car. Two perfect cars damaged in one fell swoop. I'm afraid to tell our insurance company, since we just had that big claim on our uninsured motorist policy two months ago, and I was rear-ended within the last year by an unisured motorist as well. So now we can either leave our brand new van messed up, or we can pay 1700 dollars to get it fixed :<(... Not to mention the other car, which we haven't even gotten an estimate on.
It was so dumb, I was backing into our yard, trying to avoid hitting the fence and the garage, and I realized I was too close to the garage, so I tried to back up some more, and all of the sudden Josh was screaming at me, I couldn't hear him, or the crash, because of the noise cancellation thing in our van, but I could see him. He was upset, but after he yelled at me for a minute I started bawling and he felt bad for me and tried to make me feel better. But really, I messed up to the tune of thousands of dollars, simply because I forgot that his car was back there. Usually, I pull in first, since he has to leave for work earlier in the morning than I do. I just didn't remember it was back there and I was trying to edge away from the garage so I was looking at that. There was nothing he could do to make me feel better.

i did the same thing once. i backed up my suburban into my husband's old car, however, he was not home. i called his cellphone and left what he called an upbeat message, "sweetie, i backed up into your car, call me!" he thought it was a joke! the suburban cost $700.00 to fix, and we left his car with the nice memory.
I am so sorry! I almost did the same exact thing yesterday but my new car has a backup sonar thingie that starts beeping when something is back there. What a great invention or I'd be right there in your shoes with you. Just remember, it's only metal. The important thing is that your husband is a sweetie.
Well, the good news is that you get to yell at HIM once with complete abandon ;-)
Hope you're doing well.
Well, that suck but look at it this way. Number one, you arent used to driving a bigger car, so that gets you a kindof out, right? And number two, aren't you glad that it was ya'lls other car and not someone elses car. Hope it gets worked out girly. I know you don't need any added stress right now. I have done countless stupid things while driving. Once when I was sixteen I was to busy primping in my mirror one the way to school, sprayed perfume in my eye and totally his a concrete bridge on the OTHER side of the road. I never heard the end of it.
I guess it could have been worse.
Happy Thanksgiving, Marrie!
HOPE YOU AND THE KIDDOS ARE DOING WELL....
